How does aloe vera work?

How does aloe vera work?

The plant aloe vera contains a complex mixture of molecules. The Handbook of Phytochemical Constituents of GRAS Herbs and Other Economic Plants by James A. Duke states that there are as much as 300 different types of molecules in aloe vera. Hardly surprising then that it has multiple effects on multiple tissue types. Unfortunately this broad spectrum of activity also fuels ‘academic’ scepticism because aloe vera does just too much to be true. To put that last criticism into perspective, even in Prescription Only Medication (POM) there is not just one thing any drug does. This is why we have monthly editions of MIMS and BNP to show, next to the indications of POMs, their contraindications, warnings, other drug interactions and adverse effects. POMs are as targeted molecules as a pharmaceutical company can make them, yet they affect so much. Imagine a plant with 300 different types of molecules, of course it is going to act broad spectrum. Aloe vera has been used by millions of people worldwide throughout the ages. Empirical evidence accumulated in accolades like ‘miracle plant’ and ‘burn plant’ but for academic validity such a sustained track record is said to be meaningless. But even in today’s climate of evidence based medicine (EBM) much of day to day healthcare is characterised by non evidence based practice, variation in practice, inadequate outcome data, inequality of access to optimal treatment and ultimately a lack of evidence base. (Virus Research, Volume 89, Issue 2, November 2002, Pages 175-181). Entrenched sceptics should note that lack of evidence of efficacy should not be confused with evidence of lack of efficacy. The former says that there is insufficient evidence to pass judgement. The latter says it does not work. Of course good aloe vera works. Quite beside that there is safety and validation in the numbers (millions of people) and in the length of time aloe vera has been used (centuries), there is a lot of good quality research on aloe vera as well as scientific knowledge about what its different type of molecules do. This said, how well an aloe vera product works depends entirely on its quantity of working molecules, the quality of them and purity of product. On all counts Aloeride® Aloe Vera is an exemplary product that stands head and shoulders above its competitors. So how does it work? Aloeride® Aloe Vera is mostly taken by mouth but can also be applied to the skin. When taken by mouth, in the fluid environment of the stomach, the Aloeride® Aloe Vera capsules dissolve within 1 or 2 minutes giving our powder plenty of time to mix with the ample water (your stomach’s mixing waves occur every 15-25 seconds) with which you swallowed the capsules. So you have now rehydrated your aloe vera powder. Only when you have lesions or inflammation in your mouth or oesophagus is there a need for opening the capsules and ingesting the powder with water. This is easy and it does not taste horrible. With all 300 different types of molecules are out of the capsule, Aloeride® Aloe Vera goes to work. Broadly speaking the action is threefold and interconnected: anti-inflammatory, immune-modulatory and tissue healing with the target being mostly epithelium (tissue that separates tissue cells from air). Of course the first point of contact of these molecules is the alimentary canal, so it is hardly surprising that Aloeride® Aloe Vera’s molecules show their effect there first. Because Aloeride® Aloe Vera’s molecules also are absorbed into your bloodstream, they also find their way to peripheral tissue. Thus Aloeride® exerts effect way beyond the alimentary canal and causes powerful inside-out healing, the only route for safe wound healing and 24/7 skin care. Just how broad spectrum aloe vera works is underpinned by good research: cell growth, anti-inflammatory effect, anti-microbial effect, effect on burns, anti-diabetic effect, cardiovascular and lipid effect, anti-ageing effect and response to UV light, wound healing, gastrointestinal effects and immune modulation. Broad spectrum action is the result of 300 types of molecules as well as domino effect. To explain the latter, an inflamed intestinal wall for example becomes permeable to macromolecules that ought to stay within your alimentary canal. Enterocytes (intestine’s absorptive lining cells) normally determine what may enter the body - via transcellular crossing - and what stays inside the intestines. In leaky gut syndrome gaps occur in between the enterocytes so indiscriminate, paracellular crossing now can happen. Macromolecules gate crashing into your body trigger immune reactions. Aloeride® Aloe Vera helps close the gaps between enterocytes, thus indirectly changing immune response beyond its direct, researched effect on phagocytosis, lymphocytes and T-helper cells. Beyond that Aloeride® Aloe Vera also creates a more favourable milieu for good gut bacteria which in turn improves immunity. Three hundred different types of aloe vera molecules, working synergistically and causing domino effects, will act broad spectrum and the magic of all this forms the basis for aloe vera’s much deserved accolades.

Say ‘aloe’ to a fab travel companion

Say ‘aloe’ to a fab travel companion

You’ve packed your bags. You’ve got your tickets and you travel. Fantastic, but may have left something behind that should have been in your wash bag or beauty case. There are three things people commonly meet when going on holiday: sunshine, new food types and alcohol. And fancy there being one single herb that has something to offer for all three… Aloe vera is known to ease the effects of the above and good aloes may help your natural immune response. There is plenty of good research to underpin that aloe vera delivers these effects. Many people know aloe vera as a liquid in bottles, hardly the thing to pack into a suitcase! So you will be interested to know that there is one blisterfoiled, encapsulated aloe product available that is manufactured to pharmaceutical GMP standard.* It takes up no space in your travel bags (or your coat pocket) and, as it so happens, it contains way more working ingredients than other aloe products. Eases Digestion & Hangovers Travel guides immediately gravitate towards travel diarrhoea due to contaminated water (and ice cubes) or contaminated food stuffs. Sensible too, because during a two week vacation, up to 50% of people will have one or more episodes of it, the person suffering from it can feel very ill indeed and it can certainly be distressing enough to ruin a holiday or business trip. [Steffen R, DuPont H, Wilder-Smith A. Manual of Travel Medicine and Health, 2nd ed. BC Decker Inc., Ontario, Canada, 2003.] Fortunately for most European and American Continent travellers, things rarely get this drastic. But you’ll be surprised how many people do get a dicky tummy travelling. Aloeride® Aloe Vera placates the stomach and the gut lining (gastrointestinal tract), studies in aloe research show aloe to have ulceroprotection properties as well as to accelerate healing rates.** There are at least eight proper research papers on aloe’s natural anti-inflammatory effect, so a food irritated digestive tract will feel so much better for taking just a few capsules. It also is an extraordinary help the-day-after drinking beyond an elegant sufficiency of alcohol the night before, just two tiny capsules settle that horrible stomach feeling. Of course you’ll never need it for that but still. Eases Sunburn The seasoned traveller knows that on the beaches in the Caribbean you can get your back rubbed with a freshly cut chunk of aloe vera to appease the red skin. The interesting thing is that, when you take Aloeride® Aloe Vera orally - 2 capsules a day one week before and during your holiday - , you can achieve a similar effect, it helps the skin bounce back from a sudden change in sunlight exposure and is likely to keep your tan for longer. So one herb made to unrivalled standards may make your holiday more enjoyable still. * classified as grade D (EU grade) / class 100,000 (US class Federal Standard 209E) / ISO 8 ** GALAL EE, KANDIL A, HEGAZY E, EL GHOROURY M, GOBRAN W: Aloe Vera and gastrointestinal ulceration, J Drug Res Egypt 7:73-77, 1975.; GUPTA MB, NATH R, GUPTA GP, BHARGAVA KP: Antiulcer activity of some plant triterpenoids, Indian J Med Res 73:649-652, 1981.

Aloe Vera and Climate Change

What is aloe vera, Aloeride® and Climate Change

Among plants aloe vera may be an Ugly Betty but it has a 4,000+ year track record of being hugely valued for improving both health and beauty. Earliest recorded pharmaceutical use dates back to 2100 BC (Sumeria/Babylon), also hieroglyphic inscriptions of aloe dated to 4100 BC were found in the tomb of an Egyptian Court physician. Queen Cleopatra and Queen Nefertiti, both renown for their stunning beauty, used aloe vera to stay healthy and beautiful. Aloe vera today still is unfailingly popular for the same reasons it was valued for throughout the ages. Although aloe vera looks like a cactus, it actually is a succulent and a member of the Liliacae family (like the onion, garlic, asparagus, lily and the tulip). Unsurprisingly one of aloe vera’s nick names is ‘lily of the desert’ because that is where it grows naturally. To survive long periods of droughts these xeroids plants have the ability to retain and preserve large quantities of water. Being able to survive such a harsh environment has interesting implications for you. When for instance an aloe leaf gets damaged it instantaneously repairs this damage thereby avoiding loss of water. Failure to quickly repair the injury site would result in evaporation of its precious reservoir and might jeopardise the plant’s health or survival. Such tissue repair and other powerful aloe vera properties are transferred to you when you ingest Aloeride® Aloe Vera. There are more than 350 varieties of aloe vera yet only 4 contain significant healing properties, the most nutrient dense of these is aloe vera barbadensis miller, the plant used to make Aloeride® Aloe Vera. Aloe vera is a complex, interacting mixture of some 300 constituents including beta-linked polysaccharides, vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes, lignins, saponins and anthraquinones. The challenge in processing aloe vera is how to extract all of these synergistic molecules without damaging them or without significantly altering their ratios to one another. Next you must deliver all these synergistic molecules in meaningful quantities for only then can the many properties attributed to aloe vera manifest themselves. We chose to grow the best and process in the cleverest possible way and as a result Aloeride® Aloe Vera emerges as the top flight aloe vera product in multiple, independent laboratory tests. With a nick name like ‘lily of the desert’ you won’t be surprised to learn that aloe vera cannot tolerate frost. Its water content freezes at 28° Fahrenheit (minus 2°Celcius) causing the plant to die. Consequently most commercial growth of aloe vera happens south of the Equator. North of the Equator commercial growth still is precarious, aloe growers in the ‘dust bowl’ of southern Spain got clobbered when in February 2005 temperatures fell to minus 10° in Madrid and minus 20° in Aragon. But also south of the Equator the climate is changing, until recently Australia was a large producer of aloe vera like it was of wheat, cotton lint, wine grapes and rice. Their prolonged droughts caused a drop in wheat production by over 58% which made wheat prices surge to a 10-year high, these drought also affected Australia’s aloe vera production where one company alone converted some 7,000 tonnes of aloe vera leaf into around three million litres of gel each year. An aloe vera plant needs 150mL water a month as otherwise it dies. Plants that do survive the drought generate more aloin and emodin, resulting in their gel having an even more bitter taste and stronger odour than usual. It is what dehydrated aloe does for self-preservation because emodin and aloin have anti-inflammatory, bactericidal, virucidal, fungicidal and anti-cancer effect. These hydroxyanthraquinone compounds become life savers as the dehydrated plant fights cell disorganisation and bacteria, viruses or fungi that prey on it. However, what is good for a distressed aloe vera plant isn’t necessarily good for you. In the lower gastrointestinal tract barbaloin molecules are hydrolysed to create aloe emodin which acts as a laxative by increasing water retention and mucus secretion in the large intestine. Aloe vera crop surviving droughts may come with a sting in its tail that causes mayhem in sensitive digestive tracts. In order to achieve product consistency in a changing climate, we perform routine laboratory tests on trial processed harvests and base our purchases on those outcomes. The effect of climate change reaches aloe vera crops worldwide and to date Aloeride® Aloe Vera has needed to make two rejections because of our very exacting Quality Control. Climate change certainly makes optimal harvesting more challenging than it has been in the past decades but the customer feedback shows that keeping to our unique standards makes an appreciable difference to customer’s quality of life. An Ugly Betty aloe vera may be, but in Aloeride® Aloe Vera it waves its magic wand supremely.

Aloeride Has Anti-Diabetic Potential Aloe Vera for Diabetics

Aloeride Aloe Vera Has Anti-Diabetic Potential

Plants have been used as a source of medicine through out the years of time. The use of plants in treatment of various human ailments has been noted in many of the ancient Indian literature. There are about 45,000 plant species in India and several thousands have been used as medicine because of the purported medicinal properties. In the last few decades the studies performed on the plants mentioned in the literature or were used traditionally for diabetes have shown to actually have anti-diabetic properties. The study reviews 45 of the anti-diabetic plants and their products have shown experimental or clinical anti-diabetic activity. The most commonly studied and the most successful of these plants used in association of diabetes and their problems are the Allium cepa, Allium sativum, Aloe vera, Cajanus cajan, Coccinia indica, Caesalpinia bonducella, Ficus bengalenesis, Gymnema sylvestre, Momordica charantia, Ocimum sanctum, Pterocarpus marsupium, Swertia chirayita, Syzigium cumini, Tinospora cordifolia and Trigonella foenum graecum. A varying degree of hypoglycemia and anti-hyperglycemic activity were shown in a variety of degrees in all of the plants. In preliminary clinical and experimental observations, the dried sap of the aloe plant is a traditional remedy used for diabetes in the Arabian Peninsula. In fact it is one of the many traditional remedies used in diabetes in the Arabian Peninsula. 5 patients wit non-insulin-dependent diabetes and in Swiss albino mice were studied. With one half teaspoon of the aloes ingested daily for 4-14 weeks, the fasting serum glucose level fell in every patient from 273 to 151 with no weight gain or loss. In normal mice, the doses of 10 mg twice daily of glibenclamide and 500 mg twice daily of aloes induce hypoglycaemia (an abnormally low level of sugar) after 5 days. 71 from 91, versus 130 in the control animals only glibenclamide was effective after 3 days. Glibenclamide and aloes noticeably reduced the fasting plasma glucose in the diabetic mice after 3 days. Only the aloes was useful after that and by day number 7, the plasma glucose was 394 versus 64, in the controls and 726 in the glibenclamide treated group. The conclusion to this study was aloes contains a hypoglycaemic agent, which lowers the blood glucose, however the specific cause is unknown. In this study the objective is to perform a methodical review of the published literature on the effectiveness and the safety of the use of herbal supplements, vitamins and minerals, and therapies as glucose control in patients with diabetes. An electronic literary search was perform of Medline, Oldmedline, Cochrane Library Database, and performed hand searches and consulting with experts in the field. This study also included any available clinical studies involving human participants and examined glycemic control. When data had been extracted in a consistent manner, two independent investigators assessed the procedural quality of the randomized controlled trials using the Jadad scale. The Results found a total of 108 trials examining 35 herbs, whether single or in combination, and 9 vitamin/mineral supplements, which involved 4,565 patients with diabetes or weakened glucose tolerance. The criteria was met and analyzed. There were 58 controlled clinical trials, 42 were randomized and 16 were non-randomized trials, which mostly used patients with type 2 diabetes. Of the 58 trials, the direction of the evidence form improved glucose control was positive in 76%, which equals to 44 of the 58. Very few adverse effects were reported. The Conclusion is still insufficient evidence to draw definitive conclusions about the effectiveness of individual herbs, however they do appear to be safe. With the data available it does suggest several of the herbal supplements need further study because of their positive results in the preliminary trials. These are Aloe vera, vanadium, nopal and a few others. With Aloeride containing pure Aloe vera it is safe to say, the findings show positive results in lowering glucose among type II diabetics, and it has been found to be safe to take. Check into the other qualities of Aloeride with pure Aloe Vera. You just might be surprised.

Aloe Vera Helping The Heart

Aloeride Aloe Vera Helping The Heart

One of the most important health challenges of our time is the preventing of hardening of the arteries. Hardening of the arteries is one of the major consequences of aging. Fortunately now days there are a number of things, which can be done, to prevent and in some cases reverse arteriosclerosis or hardening of the arteries. Because of the aloe, Aloeride Aloe Vera can benefit the circulatory system. Aloe lowers triglycerides and LDL or the “bad cholesterol” and raises HDL the “good cholesterol”. Several studies have shown when aloe is added to the diet, symptoms and signs of coronary artery disease disappeared. The people in the study never developed heart problems. The same studies noted patients were able to discontinue their prescriptions of the pills they had taken the in past for chest pain, blood pressure and blood sugar control. A study done in 1985 before the information regarding aloe vera and Aloeride was known used 5,000 people with acknowledged coronary artery disease and angina pectoris, which is chest pain on physical exertion, which indicates a lake of circulation of blood to the heart muscles, were fed with aloe vera added to their diet. The results were no more signs of angina pectoris, no development of lethal heart attacks and prescription drugs were no longer needed to control symptoms, but didn’t cure them. Hardening of the arteries is a complex disease, which involves microscopic damage to small and large arteries alike. Hardened plague lines the arteries. When the small arteries have a plague line, which builds up, the smaller the passageway making blood circulation difficult. The organs and tissues needing the blood and the oxygen are deprived, which causes damage to the organs and tissue due to the lack of oxygen and blood, and the build up of carbon dioxide and other toxic waste, which should be carried away by the arteries. When the coronary arteries are blocked, blood no longer flows freely; it will sludge through the arteries. With physical exertion the heart muscle needs more oxygen. When it request for more oxygen and blood is not delivered, a heart muscle is damaged and it dies. When the heart muscles dies, it is called a heart attack. If the right muscle of the heart dies, the person will die instantly. By reducing the platelet stickiness, Aloe vera alleviates the coronary syndrome the same thing aspirin and Plavex are currently used for. The usual job for the platelet is blood clotting to stop bleeding when blood vessels are injured. When the platelets become sticky more than normal, the platelet will form a clot in a blood vessel whose walls are lined with too much plaque. Sometimes it will permanently shut off the blood flow through that artery or blood vessel. The clotting can cause damage to the tissue of the brain by causing a stroke and kidneys in people with hardening of the arteries and those with diabetes. The diabetes will accelerate the process of small vessel disease and the damage to organs and tissues. Aloe vera has the ability to reduce platelet stickiness and decrease the inflammation caused by microvascular injury. It reduces the build up and can even reverse the hardening of the arteries as well as prevent it.

Aloeride® Aloe Vera: The plant in a pill

Aloeride® Aloe Vera: The plant in a pill

For a plant that was born in the arid deserts of Africa, the world itself was not enough. In the ancient times Kings, emperors and their troops carried it with them from one land to the other and within a few centuries, Aloe Vera had captured the world. Each civilization claims to have discovered something new about the plant. It started with skin ailments, cuts and burns, went on to general well being of the skin, digestive problems, problems with the colon and now is considered beneficial to diabetes patients and patients with cancer as well. Yet, we haven’t fully realized the potential of Aloe Vera.

Consuming the plant

Aloe Vera is a commonly grown plant around the world. But very few people are able to harness its power. Some grow it for decorative purposes. But the people, who do grow it for medicinal reasons, usually find it a tad difficult to consume it. The commonly followed procedure is to cut the fleshy part of a healthy leaf, squeeze out the gel from it and then mix it with two parts of water before consuming. But the juice that this yields is extremely bland tasting. Also, you never know whether the leaf itself was as healthy as it looked. Aloe Vera leaves can get damaged easily under high temperatures or excessive moisture. What you need is a convenient and hassle free way of consuming aloe Vera with all its benefits. Thankfully, we have Aloeride® Aloe Vera.

Knowing Aloeride® Aloe Vera

It’s not easy to describe Aloeride® Aloe Vera. But if I were to describe it in a few words, I would call it the plant in the pill. It is the only Aloe Vera product in the whole world that is made to pharmaceutical standards. It has been analyzed and tested to ensure that it is the most potent Aloe Vera product in the whole world. Other than helping you improve the quality of your life, Aloeride® Aloe Vera can also cure myriad ailments like IBS and IBD which are known to disrupt the mental as well as physical health of a person. People who have suffered the agony of IBS for more than 20 years have received instant relief after consuming Aloeride® Aloe Vera. One of the major differentiating facts is that Aloeride® has a non concentrated formula as opposed to other concentrated ones in the market.

The difference

Most of the Aloe Vera products in the market have been created with minimum effort to improve or enhance the efficiency of the drug. As a result, you get Aloe Vera pills and supplements that offer you only the minimum benefits of consuming Aloe Vera. Aloeride® Aloe Vera on the other hand has been specially formulated for fast results. What good is a pill if you cannot fully enjoy its benefits fast?

Aloeride® Aloe Vera is the only Aloe Vera supplement that is endorsed by doctors. And contrary to what most people think, Aloe Vera is not a laxative. It works by palpating the gut lining to improve the digestive problems. But it is in no way a laxative that leads to diarrhea. In order to prevent the laxative effect, Anthraquinones are not used in Aloeride® Aloe Vera. Rather than using pills and lotions that offer half the benefits of Aloe Vera, use an easy to consume and easy to carry pill that offers you up to 2.73 times the benefits of any other Aloe Vera supplement in the market. Also, it is the only Aloe Vera supplement that is created without any sort of additives or coloring.

ALOERIDE Aloe Vera : A PREVENTATIVE FOR THE PERFORMER

ALOERIDE: A PREVENTATIVE FOR THE PERFORMER

As everyone knows, stress and anxiety create all kinds of chemical reactions within our bodies. This is only exacerbated ten-fold if you happen to be an A-type personality and a hundred-fold if you happen to be an A-type artistic performer. Before entering an audition, a shoot or a stage performance most artists go through an absolute wild ride of emotions and reactions. When you are around them you can feel the momentum building like a volcano. Back stage it is absolutely electrifying and so tense you can cut it with a knife. This is equally true for the rock band about to go on stage, or an actor coming onto the set. It is that “zone” of extreme emotions, vulnerability and pumping adrenalin which is brought up from the depths of the body in order to give exaggerated life to the performance.

One of the body’s reactions that takes place in that zone is the famous fight or flight response which is what produces hormones such as cortisol and epinephrine. Whether it’s a two or three hour rock concert or an actor waiting all day to do a scene, the body must remain in that alarm state for extended periods of time in order to fulfill the demands of the performance. This state in turn releases abundant chemical reactions in the body including, but not limited to, the over-production of the adrenal hormones as well as an overflow of acids into the stomach. These acids cause disruption of digestion, as well as, severe irritation and damage to the lining and intestinal villi. And this is why most artists and performers suffer from a never ending list of stomach and intestinal ailments. Everything from a simple nervous stomach to ulcers, IBS, colitis and even more serious maladies such as crohn’s -just to name a few. Some performers resort to over the counter meds, a multitude of prescriptions, and even illegal drugs to keep their stress levels in check and attempt to control their body’s reaction to the pressure. Unfortunately, eventually this way of addressing emotions and natural chemical reactions within the body will cause far more damage, possible addiction, and often premature death. In fact, most doctors will tell you, if you wait until the stressors are present before employing some way of managing the effects, then the damage is probably already done. So, no matter how you look at it, being an overly-sensitive creative person subjected to the outrageous emotional and physical demands which come along with working in the entertainment business, is a sure fire formula for disaster.

However, most smart artists are well aware of the physical demands way ahead of the moment they must walk onto a stage or on set. Artists from Madonna to Bono to Matt Damon to Will Smith to Nicole Kidman and Scarlett Johansson, all on 2008’s top paid performer’s list, have long ago learned it is ALL about preparation. They know if they want to remain in good health, maintain their looks and stay on the A-list they must practice preventative measures long before a tour or role begins. A well disciplined artist refuses to be carelessness and thus become a victim of post performance damage control.

And this is where a powerful new health aid from England called ALOERIDE Aloe Vera has come into big play among those who heartily embrace prevention. Aloeride is a pure uncompromised derivative of Barbadensis Miller aloe vera. And as everyone knows, the aloe vera plant has for centuries held the ultimate position as the “miracle” healing aid to skin and cells. Aloeride is refined molecules of pure aloe vera placed in a convenient capsule, then blister foil sealed to maintain its powerful effectiveness. This tiny capsule contains over 300 nutrients which help sustain and feed every cell in the body. Aloeride Aloe Vera is proven in independent testing to be especially effective in addressing stomach and intestinal issues. It can actually help balance stomach acid, heal and reduce the mucosal layer within the intestinal wall which prevents mal-absorption, and supports the tiny villi responsible for taking up nutrients into the blood stream. With the support of Aloeride® Aloe Vera the body’s overall functions improve greatly and many of the body’s cells are actually layered in a coat of protective molecules. This protection functions as a barrier against the aggressive free radicals or hormones launched in high stress situations. Aloeride® Aloe Vera taken daily for three weeks prior to any stressful situation can provide definitive protection. It has also been noted to provide a general sense of well being which in turn assists the body’s coping mechanisms and actually reduces the stressful response itself. Now that’s a preventative measure! However, you don’t have to be a performer or A-type personality to reap the enormous benefits of this miraculous tiny capsule in a little green box. You just need to be smart enough to know prevention is by far the very best thing you can possibly do for your body.
